Christian Castro who served in Iraq, faces deportation to El Salvador, He is already deported but continues to fight his case, he has been diagnosed with PTSD , has multiple scars from shratenal on his knee and part of his thumb blown off, He also has a heart condition , takes medication more than once a day .. woken up at 4 am , he has to walk a quarter mile to take his pills ,his regular medications can only be taken in Arizona , but he chooses not to take it due to being far away from his children, even knowing that he could have a stroke for not taking his regular medications.. doesnt matter if its raining or snowing, the meds are not brought to his barracks...the goverment he swore to defend is also trying to take his VA benefits from his family and and leave him statless, he has multiple tours in Iraq, and still no relief to him and any veterans. Chris is currently released, but still faces possible deportation pre-ceedings.

Enter D.E.P. program in 1997 at 17years old. My M.O.S 0811 Artillery
•
Reported to M.C.R.D. San Diego, Ca in August 1998
•
Completed the crucible and officially became a Marine in October 31, 1998
•
Also completed Combat training at school of Infantry San Onofre aboard Camp Pendleton
•
December 1998 began field artillery school aboard Fort Sill
•
Graduated with honors scoring an average of 96.8% or higher from Artillery school still in Fort Sill
•
Reported to Sierra Battery 5th Battalion 11Th Marines. 1st Marine Division in 1999
•
My first Deployment was aboard the L.S.D. 52. U.S.S Pearl hardboard for 6 months
•
I served with 2 units that were deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Sierra Battery and Romeo Battery, both units were part of 5th Battalion 11 Marines 1th Marine Division completed my service December 15 2005.
Incidents witnessed while in service
•
I witness 5 Ton trucks, full of gear and Marines rolls off the side of mountains. Critically injuring Marines while serving with “Sierra Battery”.
•
I was aboard of L.S.D 52 when I seen a chopper falls off side of the ship friends lost their lives. We Marines carried dead bodies over humnees and trucks in a main man chain in the well deck of the ship.

I got partially amputated my right thumb and injured my knee while performing my job duties with Sierra Battery.
•
Also witness a fellow Marine “Devil Dog” lose his foot in an accident also while serving with Sierra Battery.
•
I lost a total of 7 Brothers who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I have called to the Hotline for veterans about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I was given the option to discharge under Medical conditions and I refused.
I opted to honor my contract and was released when my contract ended with an “Honorable Discharge”.
